About the OGGF

With its instructional clinics, tournaments, scholarship program and financial aid, the Ohio Girls Golf Foundation introduces girls to countless educational, recreational and career opportunities through the game of golf.

When the OGGF was founded in 1994 it acted as a catalyst for girls golf, as the number of high school girls golf teams in Northern Ohio went from zero to more than 250 today. Over the years, we have given instruction to more than 1,000 girls at our clinics and awarded close to 100 scholarships.

The Foundation's hard-working committees continually explore new avenues of development, especially the OGGF Open annual golf tournament for area high school girls. Every year we bring together high school girls, the corporate community and an LPGA Tour Professional for what has become one of the area’s premier golf events.

The OGGF also sponsors instructional Golf Clinics, geared to inform, educate, and expand girls' knowledge of all aspects of golf. All girls, age 8 to 18, are eligible to participate in these Saturday April clinics. The format includes instruction for every skill level from beginner to advanced, and examines all of the game. These sessions feature skilled PGA or LPGA instructors who work closely with the girls to provide the most effective learning environment. Plus, through the Ongoing Lesson Program girls have the opportunity to continue improving their game via private lessons with PGA Professionals, partially funded by the Foundation.

Many of our past players, clinic participants and financial aid recipients have gone onto win major amateur events, earn college scholarships and even play on the LPGA tour! So if you are interested in golf, bring a friend or parent, and come partake in all we have to offer.

The mission of the OGGF is to encourage, sponsor and support the game of golf for girls by providing college scholarships, golf training programs and financial assistance to attend designated golf tournaments.
